Your Doota address is also how you sign in — and you can’t read your mail until you’re in. So Doota gives you simple, strong ways to sign in, and a reliable way back if you’re ever locked out. You’ll find all of this in your account settings, under security.
Ways to sign in
Enter your Doota email and password. If you’ve turned on extra protection, Doota also asks for a 6-digit code from an authenticator app on your phone. That’s it — you’re in.
A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, face, or device PIN — no password to remember, and nothing to type. It’s the easiest and safest option. Set one up once, then it’s a tap from then on.
Adding extra protection
An authenticator app (like Google Authenticator, 1Password, or Authy) gives you a rotating 6-digit code — a second lock on your account so a stolen password isn’t enough on its own. Doota walks you through setting it up.
Passkeys
A passkey is the modern, phishing-proof way to sign in — your device proves it’s you. You can add more than one (laptop, phone, a hardware key) so you’re never stuck. Add and manage them in your security settings.
Your recovery email
Because you can’t read your Doota mail until you’re signed in, Doota sends account help to a different, personal address (like your own Gmail). Set and confirm it in security settings.
If you ever forget your password, ask Doota to reset it — the reset link goes to that personal recovery address, never to your Doota one.
Changing your password
- From the sign-in screen (locked out): use “forgot password” and Doota emails a reset link to your recovery address.
- While signed in: change it in security settings. For safety, Doota asks for both a one-time code and your current password before the change takes effect.
