# Calendar invites

When someone sends a meeting invite — from Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple, or
anywhere else — Doota reads it and shows a tidy **invite card** at the top of the
message instead of a raw attachment.

The card shows the **date and time**, the **title**, where it is (including a
**Join** button for Zoom, Meet, or Teams links), who's **organizing**, and
who's **going**.

## Replying — Yes, Maybe, or No

If you're invited, the card has three buttons: **Yes**, **Maybe**, and **No**.
Tap one to respond. Your answer goes back to the organizer, and the card
remembers what you chose. Everyone's status shows on the card — **Going**,
**Maybe**, **Declined**, or **No response**.

How your reply is sent depends on who sent the invite:

- **Google and Outlook invites** carry their own Yes / Maybe / No links. Tapping
  a button opens **that** flow in a new page — the one their calendar expects —
  and Doota records your choice locally so the card stays in sync.
- **Apple, Fastmail, and plain invites** don't have those links, so Doota sends a
  proper reply email to the organizer for you. No new page, one clean response.

> Doota only ever replies to the **organizer**, and your reply carries **only your
> own** response — never the rest of the guest list. You're never auto-RSVP'd:
> nothing is sent until you tap a button.

## Updates and cancellations

If the organizer changes the time or details, the newer invite wins and the card
updates. If they cancel, the card reads **Cancelled** and the reply buttons go
away.

When an invite is just a notification that *someone else* replied (“Alex
accepted”), Doota shows it for context but doesn't offer you buttons — it isn't
yours to answer.

> Doota reads and replies to invites; it isn't a full calendar. There's no month
> view, no reminders, and repeating events are shown as the single invite you
> received — not expanded into a series.
